Zakir Khan is a famous Indian Comedian, Actor, Writer, YouTuber and Television Presenter. Zakir Khan was born on 20 August 1987 in a middle-class musical Muslim family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Khan became famous after winning India’s comedy show “Comedy Central India’s Best Stand-Up Comedian” competition. Wherever Zakir is today, he gives full credit to his father.

Zakir knows for his shows Haq Se Single, Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare, Kaksha Gyarvi, and Tathastu.

Zakir Khan was born in a middle-class musical Muslim family in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. In an interview, Zakir revealed that the relationship between him and music is almost 300 years old.

Because his grandfather Sarangi Maestro Ustad Moinuddin Khan was a musician. Even his father and he is also connected to music.

If you see Zakir and watch his videos, then you must have seen or heard somewhere that he is a sitarist. Zakir never wanted to become a comedian from the beginning. He wanted to become a music teacher.

Khan has done Diploma in Sitar. If it is seen about his further studies, then he is a college dropout student.

Khan says that “Yaar, college main rahane ka koi matalab nahi tha. Classes ham attend karate nahi the, aur degree se jyaada hamen pane khwahisho se pyaar that.”

Being from a musical background, his music training had started in childhood. Zakir dropping out from college, he did a diploma in sitar. After completing of diploma, he came to Delhi in search of work where he learned radio programming from ARS. He learning radio programming, he went to Jaipur in 2009 where he did many different jobs.

After staying for some time in Jaipur, Khan came back to Delhi and started looking for work. He looked for work in many places but he was not getting any work. He did not even have enough money to pay the rent of his room.

After a few days, he got a job as a copywriter in a private company, where he worked for three to four years.

Career

Khan was trying a lot, he started doing standups in cafes and small fat shows. In the beginning, he used to have a little nervousness and many punches does not works. In some shows, he used to leave the stage in less than 2 minutes, as he has told in his videos.

Then a few days later, Khan was called to Mumbai as a content writer for a news comedy show “On Air With AIB”. This show came on Hotstar which had about 10 episodes.

People came to know Zakir Khan when he won the ‘India’s Best Stand Up’ comedy show in 2012 which was presented by Comedy Central.

Zakir performed his first comedy show with India’s popular comedian “Niti Palta”.

Zakir Khan has done many shows like “Journey of a Joke” in 2016 which came on YouTube. “Haq Se Single” in 2017, “Kaksha Gyarvi” in 2018, Comicstaan in 2019, “One Mic Stand” in 2019 all these shows were released on Amazon Prime Video, and in 2022 “Farzi Mushaira” which was released on Amazon Mini TV.

His famous line to date, because of which he became very famous in the beginning, is “Sakht Launda”. This means a guy who doesn’t fall in love with her easily.

In 2017, Zakir appeared as a mentor along with Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal in the 5th episode of the Great Indian Laughter Show, which was judged by Akshay Kumar.

Khan co-hosted the Fifth Annual Kerala Golden Awards with popular Indian comedians Vir Dass and Papa CJ.
